Friends of St David’s Music
Friends of St David’s Music promote a series of free concerts organised by St David’s Director of Music, Dr Ray Booth. The concerts feature St David’s historic organ, originally constructed in 1873 by Wolff and rebuilt and enlarged with some tonal improvements by the local firm of J E Dodd in 1903. Guest artists have included well known Adelaide musicians, singers, students from St Peter’s Girls School, the Illumina choir and Marlborough Players.
After the concerts, refreshments are provided to enable members of the audience to meet and talk with the musicians and singers.
For further information, contact the Parish Office on Monday - Friday between 9am -12 noon – Telephone 8364 4034 or Email: [email protected]
Burnside InterChurch Council (BICC)
St David's is a member of the ecumenical group of churches in the eastern suburb of Adelaide. The group's major task is to raise funds to support Pastoral Care Workers (chaplains) in four schools in this area, at Burnside PS, Glenunga International HS, Marryatville HS and Marden Senior College. The funds raised by the group ensure more hours per week for the pastoral care workers beyond the government grant they receive.
BICC also conducts prayer breakfast on the first Saturday of each month. St David's usually takes part in hosting a prayer breakfast each year. The first one for the year, held at St David's, started with a light breakfast and concluded at 9.00am.
St David's has participated in the Combined Christian Endeavours, which organises the Christian part of the Norwood Pageant. What joy to receive a balloon from one of the clowns in our parade!
