Community Groups and Activities

The parish community is known for its involvement in a variety of community activities.  

Special social events for 2022 are found under Future Events

Groups that meet on a regular basis, are:​

  • Separate Men’s and Women's Fellowship Dinners, held bi-monthly on the fourth Friday of the month starting in February, are much enjoyed by everyone who attends.  Come along for a tasty meal and convivial company.  Please let Edith or Phil know that you would like to attend by the Wednesday before .  Phil's contact details are 0438 554 720  [email protected] and Edith's 0498 391 122.  Men dine at New Oriental House, Shop 5, 563 Portrush Road, Glenunga and the ladies dine at Empress Restaurant, 351 Greenhill Road, cnr Sturt Avenue, Toorak Gardens.  Held in February, April, June, August, October and December.
  • Joint Fellowship Dinners, held bi-monthly on the fourth Friday of the month & starting in March, are also enjoyed by those that attend. These are held in St David's Parish Supper Room. Join together for a shared meal - enjoying the company of friends. Please bring an evening meal & a dessert & your favourite beverage. Meals will be placed on a common table & delivered to plates (in a Covid safe manner) for everyone to enjoy. Invite family & friends to join us. Contact Fr John 0438 116 710 
  • Stitching Group, the Sew n Sew's, meets fortnightly on Wednesdays.  Contact person: Sue Jackson Ph: 08 7220 7572
  • Coffee and Chat - every Thursday at 10.45 am

Other regular events attended by people within the parish and the wider community. These include:

  • Book and Produce Stalls
  • Free concerts, held predominantly in the winter months

The parish supports various charities, in particular a local women's shelter, Bush Church Aid, and  Anglicare.
